A2 – ANTILOCK BRAKING SYSTEM
Speed Sensor (rev sensor)
This electromagnetic induction-type sensor detects the
change in magnetic flux caused by the revolution of a rotor
mounted on the vehicle shaft. The signal pulse is transmitted
to the control unit and used to control the ABS and active
suspension. |
|
B – TEMPERATURE DETECTION
Thermal reed switches
Abnormal radiator water temperature and 4WD transmission
system temperature can be detected by thermal reed switches,
which are a combination of a normal reed switch in a heat-sensitive
ferrite casing. These devices can be manufactured to switch
at specific temperatures. |
|
C – DAMAGED LAMP DETECTION
Reed switches
Reed switches combined with coils are able to detect damaged
lamps, including burnt-out headlights and rear lights. |
|
D – FLUID LEVEL DETECTION
Level sensors
These sensors warn if the liquid levels in the brake master
cylinder, cooling system and wash/wipe reservoir fall. |
|
E – POWER SEAT POSITIONING
Reed switches
These reed switches detect the limit of the longitudinal
movement of electrical power seats and the reclining angle. |
|
F – OPEN/CLOSED DOOR PROTECTION
Proximity sensor
A reed switch type proximity sensor detects whether the
door is open or closed and can be linked to an alarm system
or internal lighting for security and convenience. |
|
G – SEAT BELT TENSIONING
Shock sensor
This reed switch type shock sensor tighten and locks the
seat belt instantaneously (20 – 30ms) when an impact of
above 2 G is experience. It is normally used in combination
with an airbag system. |
|
H – SUSPENSION LEVELING CONTROL
Reed Switches
A combination of multiple reed switches and magnets sense
uneven loading of the vehicle and trigger the suspension
levelling system for safer driving. Opto sensors can also
be used for this application. |
|
I – BOOT/TRUNK LID PROTECTION
This reed type switch can be used to indicate the open/closed
state of the lid for safety control. It can also be linked
to a security system to prevent theft. |
